MTV Australia has partnered with Brisbane-based marketing agency Call & Response to bring a brand new hip hop series to the telly.
Showcasing hip hop, rap and R&B, MTV CALL & RESPONSE HIP HOP premieres tonight at 8pm AEDT and will air every Wednesday on MTV Music.
The show will be hosted by music journo Christopher Kevin Au and will reportedly feature urban music industry news, tour info, music video premieres, interviews and artist profiles.
"Since launching a couple of years ago, our passion for exposing new Australian and New Zealand artists on a global scale has only grown," said the director and founder of Call & Response Josh Taylor-Anderson.
"This partnership with MTV is just our first plank in a bridge for local urban artists to take on the world."
Vice President of MTV Asia Pacific, Simon Bates shared in the excitement.
"There is immense talent within the Australian and Kiwi hip hop community, and Call & Response have firmly established themselves as champions of artists within the genre," he said.
"MTV CALL & RESPONSE: HIP HOP is the perfect addition our growing list of local initiatives such as MTV Upload, MTV Unplugged Melbourne and the soon-to-be-launched MTV TRL, each providing an opportunity to spotlight exciting local talent."
