Nominess Announced For Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Barry Award

The winner will be announced this Saturday

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is almost over for another year, but before the laughs come to a halt, one of the event's performers will be recognised with the prestigious Barry Award.

The award - named after the iconic Barry Humphries - will be presented to festival's most outstanding show this Saturday 19 April at The Hi-Fi. The nominees are as follows - and we've reviewed a number of them too:

Celia Pacquola: Let Me Know How It All Works
Denise Scott: Mother Bare
John Kearns: Sight Gags For Perverts
Kyle Kinane
The Boy With Tape On His Face: More Tape
Tim Key: Single White Slut
Trygve Wakenshaw: Kraken

Past winners of the award, which is celebrating its 17th year, include The Mighty Boosh, Ross Noble, The Pajama Men and Sammy J & Randy. There will be a number of other awards handed out on the night including The Golden Gibbo for best independent production and The Piece Of Wood for comic's choice.
