No Sleep Til Wee Waa: The Road Trip Mix

A few tunes for the journey...

Our man Dave Dri is nearing his way to Wee Waa for the Daft Punk Random Access Memories album launch on his motorbike. This guy made sure he was prepared before he left...

BREAKING: We just had confirmation from Dri that Daft Punk will NOT be performing at the Inglewood Hotel (where he just called into) this weekend. Sorry locals!

Anyway back to his road trip. Dri had a wicked playlist to accompany him on his journey and hey, If you're still on your way to Wee Waa, why not blast these bad boys while you're at it?

Civil Civic - Street Trap

Theme song from "The highway chase I never want to get into because it ends bad for me". Full frequency motor music.

Ratatat - Lex

Instrumental inbound. Pretty sure everything that's happening right now is a montage. Ryan Gosling's playing me, of course, and just cruising into the horizon. Sunrise and sunset. Timelapses. Handicam up close, just staring into the distance. Wild pans to track some wilder animal dashing away form the side of the road and, nope, we're out.

Wavves - Super Soaker

Do I see rain clouds? But my iPhone weather app said it would be clear skies all the way down. Must be something wrong with my visor.

New Navy - Zimbabwe

I could just keep riding. I've got what, two liters of water? About ten left in the tank. Enough couscous to feed a small army. I could just keep on riding until I hit the ocean. And then what? Roll onto a coal shipment and make for Africa? It's Western Australia after all; Gina would hook a brother up. There's fucking coal ships EVERYwhere over there.

Slim Dusty - The Biggest Disappointment

(This is a cover version from Troy Cassar-Daly & Harmony James)

Because it would be Un-Australian not to. And because there's bound to be more than a few kids paying a few hundred bucks for listening party tickets on eBay, suddenly seeing an iTunes stream pop up a few days before the event. But cheer up, skinny-jeans, the chainsaw competition is going to be bloody fantastic.

Horrowshow - Thoughtcrime (Doin' My Think)

How long have I been riding now? Where the hell am I? On a road, sure, but in general? Am I going the right way? I've been here before, I think, but it's all so different. Or am I the one that's different? Does anything out here change? Will I change? Would I even recognise myself? Fuck I'm hungry.

Road trippin' to Wee Waa in style...
