The ex-Thursday singer had been performing in Hamburg at Friday's Reeperbahn Festival with his current outfit at the time of the incident
The former vocalist of post-hardcore titans Thursday, and present frontman for the phoenix-like members of No Devotion, Geoff Rickly, has continued his history of having close to the Worst Luck Ever for a touring musician after being poisoned and robbed — yes, you read that right the first time — ahead of a performance at Friday's Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany.
The band had been due to perform at the Rock Cafe St Pauli as part of the event, but were forced to cancel after the singer was rushed to a nearby hospital in the wake of the incident. The good news, if there is any to be taken from this, is that any ill effects were short-lived; having spent the night under care, Rickly was able to make it to Paris to continue the band's present European tour commitments and perform with No Devotion at Backstage By The Mile overnight (AEST).
Rickly and No Devotion (fairly nonchalantly, it must be said) broke the news of the poisoning and robbery early this morning on social media, reassuring fans that all members would be accounted for in time for the show in Paris.
Just a little note to say that I was poisoned and spent night in hospital in Hamburg. I'm recovering and will be in Paris tonight.

As Alternative Press notes, Rickly is no stranger to shitty street experiences - back in 2013, he was mugged at gunpoint while in New York City, being alleviated of money, identification and some personal items in the process.

Additionally, the incident comes at the back end of what must have been a trying week for Rickly as his record label, Collect Records, faces an uncertain future after having severed ties with significant investor - and, more importantly, highly controversial pharmaceuticals executive - Martin Shkreli amid a storm of backlash not only from armchair commentators but the label's own artists.
No Devotion continue their EU tour in Cambridge tonight.
