Trent Reznor says he intends to contribute two new songs to a Nine Inch Nails greatest hits compilation set for release in 2014, according to Rolling Stone.
RS reports Reznor plans “to write music for a new album afterwards” and that “(new material is) in its gestation period", which backs up statements made by the frontman last month relating to the likelihood of new material.
As previously reported, the vocalist is also open to the possibility of Nine Inch Nails performing live again:
“Yeah, if it feels right, it’s a possibility. I never said that that wasn’t going to happen, just that it couldn’t go on as it was. Having a few years doing other things, I’ve enjoyed [them] and I’m enjoying doing How to Destroy Angels, and there will be a place for stuff that falls in the Nine Inch Nails column of things. It’s a different kind of work, stay tuned,” Reznor said.
