Nick Littlemore MIA for Empire of the Sun's first live performances

Empire Of The Sun play to live audiences for the first time this weekend at Parklife, but it is only one half of the dynamic duo that will be gracing the stage. Luke Steele, the bands frontman, told AAP this week that he hasn’t seen or spoken to Nick Littlemore in over 5 months since Littlemore left to concentrate on his other project Pnau.

‘Last I heard, he’s in Canada and then he’s in Vegas’ Steele revealed to AAP. When he was asked if Littlemore was part of the band anymore he replied with ‘I don’t know hey, he’s just left me with the baby’.

Though fans of the group shouldn’t despair as Steele revealed the lavish spectacle we can expect at Parklife over the next two weekends. ‘It started out pretty massive and then you begin to realise that you do have to be a pop princess or a billionaire to have these ideas come to fruition,’ he said. ‘So we always get scaled back a bit, but the nucleus of it is the same. It’s pretty special. The level of epic ecstasy intensity will differ, but it’s quite grand…and we’ve got a pretty cooking band to play these songs’. Their band for the duration of the festival tour is Adelaide band The Swiss.

Steele says that his Dad always told him that you have to keep the show on the road, so this is exactly what he is planning on doing.

Parklife will be cranking the beats out in these cites on these dates:

Saturday 26th September – Brisbane

Sunday 27th September – Perth

Saturday 3rd October – Melbourne
