Nick Cave has made good on a promise to release a new Bad Seeds album, confirming the band will release their 17th studio album, Ghosteen, next week.

The Aussie legend announced the news on his Red Hand Files newsletter today, confirming it will be a double album and even revealing the LP artwork.

"The songs on the first album are the children. The songs on the second album are their parents," Cave's post reads.

"Ghosteen is a migrating spirit."

The reveal comes only months after Cave confirmed during his Conversations tour of Australia that a new Bad Seeds record was on the way.
