Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ProfileNews has emerged of the tragedy surrounding rock Aussie legend Nick Cave and his family today, as his 15-year-old son, Arthur, is found dead after falling off a cliff in Brighton, UK.
The teenager was airlifted to hospital after he was found 18 metres below the chalk cliffs, on the coastal path at the base of the Ovingdean Gap.
According to The Guardian, a Sussex police spokeswoman said, "Members of the public carried out first aid on the boy before he was taken to the Royal Sussex county hospital, Brighton, just after 6pm. He later died there of his injuries. The death is being dealt with by the coroner’s office."
Cave and his wife, Susie, made a statement confirming his death: "Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy, loving boy. We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time."
Arthur Cave's death is not being treated as suspicious.
According to the ABC, a reporter from The Argus newspaper in Brighton saw Cave and his wife visit the cliff after the tragedy.
"We were just speaking to friends and teachers and so on who were leaving flowers and then a black Mini pulled up and Nick stayed in the car initially. Nick's wife Susie and Arthur's brother Earl got out of the car with flowers and a note and walked over to the spot where he fell.
"Nick briefly got out to hurry Sue and Earl up I think. It was all pretty brief. They looked devastated as you can probably understand."
"I spoke to a few of his pals earlier today and then didn't even know he was at the cliff edge last night, they didn't know who he was with.
"They were with him that morning, yesterday morning, they said he kind of disappeared and they didn't know where he went and they couldn't get a hold of him."
