When 95% of NSW's residents 16 and over a double vaccinated, or on December the 16th, density limits will be scrapped in all venues in New South Wales next month. Under the previous restrictions easing, nightclubs were seen as a different category to hospitality venues, however with the new restrictions, they will feature no density limit restrictions. Currently, 92% of the population is fully vaccinated.
The previously stated rule was that NSW would continue to utilise density limit of one person per two square metres in pubs and restaurants. At 95% vaccinated, or on December 16th, masks will no longer be required to be work by customers at indoor venues, proof of vaccination will not be required for almost all activities except for music festivals with more than 1000 people in attendance.
We previously reported that there would be a limit on music festivals to 20,000 people, however it is now assumed that that limit will be scrapped come next month.
The changes were announced yesterday by NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet stating that the lifted restrictions will be, “providing a boost for some of our hardest industries as we do everything we can ensure we keep people safe as we learn to live with COVID.”
