Appearing on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds With Annie Mac, Tame Impala has released an enthralling new cover of Nelly Furtado's hit single 'Say It Right'.

Following the release of his transcendent album The Slow Rush earlier this year (read our review here), king of psych-pop Kevin Parker has been gracing 2020 with a series of Tame Impala covers, reworks and performances to keep those ears tingling in lieu of their now twice-rescheduled live shows we are so yearning to witness.

Appearing on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds With Annie Mac, Parker has released an enthralling new cover of Nelly Furtado's 2006 hit single 'Say It Right', with his surreal vocals fronting the smooth production.

Embellishing the classic sonic elements from the original song with deep bass, echoing vocals, atmospheric synths, and of course, lush elements of psychedelia that define much of Tame Impala's sound, this epic rework has brought new life to this noughties classic.

Playing as a trio configuration, Kevin and Tame Impala live members Jay Watson and Dom Simper performed the rework from their Perth studio where they also delivered an energetic version of 'Is It True' from The Slow Rush.

Tame Impala has been keeping busy during the pandemic celebrating the release of The Slow Rush album through a series of livestreams and performances. Most notably joining NPR for their Tiny Desk (At Home) series, sharing a visualiser for his 'Is It True' single, creating a rework of his 'One More Year' track, and of course, celebrating five years of the iconic Currents album (read our reflective piece here).
