News media outlets have identified Australian actor and musician Craig McLachlan as the NSW man charged with assault and sex offences.
Confirmed to ABC by Victoria Police, detectives charged a 53-year-old man with "one count of common law assault, eight counts of indecent assault, and one count of attempted indecent assault".
The man is to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 8 February.
As well as starring in popular Australian shows like Home & Away, Packed To The Rafters and The Doctor Blake Mysteries, McLachlan released three studio albums between 1990-1996 and a number of hit songs such as Mona. He played the lead role of Dr Frank-N-Furter in the Rocky Horror Show musical.
