Fresh off winning not one, but TWO GRAMMYs last week, the king himself Kaytranada has released a whole bunch of unreleased tracks on Bandcamp. And, it's not as if he's dropped an EP's worth or something: he's released 100 unreleased cuts on the online retailer for a limited time only.
The Canadian producer, who took out for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording for album track '10%' featuring Kali Uchis, took to Twitter to share the news of the drop saying he "took a trip down memory lane." The Bandcamp page features two volumes of remixes which include Kaytra edits of the likes of Jay Z, M.I.A, Notorious B.I.G, TLC, Janet Jackson and more, as well as four LPs, and one EP. Many of these date as far back as 2011 and 2012, but sound just as at home in the Kaytranada back catalogue as any new release would. Many also have been released under his Kaytradamus moniker, which predates his current name (he changed due to similarities with trap duo Flosstradamus).
In an exchange with a fan who queried why the releases were only available for a limited time, the producer replied citing "uncleared samples," and said the cuts "would've [sic] been always available if that wasn’t the case."
This isn't the first release for 2021 for the artist, who collaborated with TikTok back in February for a new single titled 'Caution'. In 2020, he released an entirely instrumental version his 2019 album BUBBA, as well as remixes of Sade‘s ‘Love Is Stronger Than Pride’ and Dua Lipa‘s ‘Don’t Start Now’. He also teamed up with Lucky Daye for ‘Look Easy’, and appeared on songs with Aluna, Maeta and Lou Phelps. However, given it's only March and we've now received over 100 tracks from him, something tells us 2021 is shaping up to be a very busy year for the pioneering producer indeed.
