The ongoing impact of COVID-19 coronavirus is still developing, and many artists are feeling the full force of it. From repeated tour and event cancellations to changed releases, it's an anxiety-inducing time for anyone in music as the next six months look to be completely decimated in terms of income and stability.
It's also proving to be a difficult time for artists who have recently been on tour, with many having to voluntarily go into self-isolation or quarantine to mitigate any risks of contracting or spreading the virus. Thanks to social media however, it seems those artists are thinking up new ways to communicate with fans and stay sane while staying inside.
Charli XCX, no stranger to communicating directly with her fans, has taken this one step further and is now sharing daily diary entries. From sharing what she's doing in terms of trying to work to other suggestions from artists such as AG Cook on how to stay creative while in isolation, it's an interesting and unfiltered insight into her mind.
Replying to the first diary entry, Charli wrote, "Oh FYI not sure if I’m using the wrong language here - I guess im supposed to say social distancing diary or self isolation diary. But basically I’m alone and I’m thinking lots. That’s what I’m saying."
