The stalwart creative space will help locals nurse those NYE hangovers come 1 January
Now in its eighth year, the New Year’s Day event at Fremantle Arts Centre has long been regarded as the alternative to a New Year’s Eve frenzy, so the announcement today that the event will once again go ahead in 2016 is sweet, hangover-soothing music to the ears.
The concerts have always been a haven of relaxed, personal and intimate settings as well as being affordable for those wanting to shed their 2015 skin and start the year on the good foot, in the right musical environment.
The venue itself is one of WA’s most chilled spots, an ideal locale for a dalliance with quality music accompanied by great food and beverages to make it a memorable music jump-off to the new year.
The eighth annual New Year's Day Concert welcomes a global spectrum of performers and their eclectic, engaging soundscapes for a special night with the likes of soul/reggae new rockers Sunshine Brothers, the Afro-rhythm & soul of Grace Barbe Afro Kreol, big guns of reggae/dub Weapon Is Sound and 56 Hope Road, in addition to a selection of sweet-soul/tropical DJs providing downtime tunes to keep the good vibes coming.
The good times kick off at 5pm, running through till 10pm. Tickets are available from Fremantle Arts Centre, Oztix and Heatseeker. Check theGuide for more booking details.
