Sony Announces New Appointments For Promotions, A&R & Licensing

Sony Music Australia has today announced three new staff appointments across their Sydney A&R, promotions and sync/licensing departments. 

Alexander Franco joins the team from Future Classic - where he worked across artists like Flume, G Flip, Hayden James and more -  and will be taking on the role of Senior Director, A&R and Creative Development.

He will continue to manage artists B Wise and Jeida Woods in addition to the role. 

"I'm excited to join a global powerhouse like Sony Music for the next chapter of my career," said Franco of the appointment. 

"I look forward to working closely with their impressive roster, while signing and developing the next crop of stars that will resonate far beyond Australian shores."

Annette Gevert takes on the role of National Promotions & Communications Manager, moving across from Positive Feedback. She has previously held roles with Dew Process, Secret Service Public Relations, Mushroom, Shock Records and Warner Music Australia.

Gevert will be responsible for relationships with media partners, as well as having responsibility for select artists communications.

Jessica Barlow joins as Licensing Manager where she will work across the development of Sony Music Australia's licensing and synchronisation business. 

Barlow has previously worked as Synchronisation & Licensing Consultant at Warner Music Canada, as well as roles with Warner Music Australia, Alberts, Universal Music Publishing and EMI. 

"I am ecstatic to be joining the Sony Music team!" said Barlow. 

"Their passion and support for their artists, as well as their reputation in market, is second to none. I am really looking forward to jumping in and start working with the team to create new opportunities for their renowned domestic and global roster."
