The Rosemount car park stage will not go as planned at Distant Murmurs
New Perth festival Distant Murmurs has confirmed one of its originally announced stages for next week's event will not go ahead after failure to get council approval to use the venue's car park.
The RTRFM event confirmed that they couldn't get the needed planning approvals to allow acts to perform in the Rosemount Hotel car park, in a statement released today.
The community radio station, who are presenting the mini festival along with the Rosemount and Cool Perth Nights, said the decision threw "a bit of a spanner in the works", but assured punters that the announced acts for the stage would still perform at the event. They also confirmed they hoped they could utilise the car park space for the event next year.
Acts such as Split Seconds, Gunns and Simone & Girlfunkle were initially slated to play that stage and will now be accomodated across the event's other stages — the beer garden, main room and 459 Bar.
