Aussie rapper Illy has shared some bad news with fans, revealing that his new album, Good Life, and corresponding tour dates have been pushed back.

Good Life was due to be released this Friday (25 October) but will now be released on Friday, 15 November. In a statement posted to social media, Illy wrote that the delay isn’t on him, and he’s been trying to avoid this outcome for “months.”

The tour dates, which were scheduled to begin in two weeks (Friday, 8 November), will now occur from Friday, 28 March 2025. Illy will play in Melbourne (170 Russell), Brisbane (Princess Theatre), Sydney (Factory Theatre), and Adelaide (The Gov).

Revealing that he and his team retained the tour in the same venues with the “earliest availabilities we could,” Illy stated that the choice was either perform new material from an album that “isn’t/barely out (let alone you’ve had time to live with) or reschedule the tour. Tough one.”

He continued, “To say I’m disappointed is beyond an understatement. I want to apologise to everyone looking forward to the album and the tour. I’m sick over it, and the thought that this is letting people down. All i can say is, I’m really sorry guys.”

Writing that “this one stings” and it’s “one of those shitty things” he has to deal with, the Papercuts rapper reiterated the importance of backing yourself and your vision, even if that means delays and making difficult decisions.

Concluding the statement by reminding fans that tickets are “100% refundable” for fans who can’t make the new shows, Illy shared that he’ll be throwing launch parties in celebration of Good Life, with more details to come soon. You can read his full statement below.

The Music has contacted Illy’s record label, Warner Music Australia, for comment.

After announcing the album in September, Illy said: “I’ll get to the point - Good Life is coming from the most fully formed Illy, the artist, to date. Some of the most intense moments and emotions of my life, good and bad, happened while making this album.

“How can I not love every single song on it?! I fought for each of them, sometimes for years, sometimes when outvoted, and sometimes with myself, all over the world, with the help of a lot of great people. It’s so fitting that after all that time, heart and soul, I’m left with Good Life as a reminder of it.”
