She complements her busy festival schedule with a headline performance in March
Resurgent acclaimed chanteuse Neneh Cherry is well and truly back in action following her nearly two decades away from the limelight, and she's using the reignited fire inside to help broaden her horizons, including by announcing her very first run of headline dates Down Under.
The veteran singer has just expanded her previously announced dates with a dedicated headline performance at Melbourne's Hamer Hall on Friday, March 6.
Otherwise, you'll be able to catch Cherry as a part of Perth's epic International Arts Festival line-up (Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1) and Sydney Opera House's Music At The House summer program (Wednesday, March 11), Cherry is filling the time between her bookend performances with a six-date tour here and in New Zealand, starting off with Auckland and Wellington immediately after gracing Perth before re-hopping the ditch to appear at Hamer Hall, Meredith's Golden Plains Festival and the two-day WOMADelaide event from March 8-9.
Cherry has been performing for more than 25 years, yet February this year yielded the release of only her fourth solo full-length, Blank Project. The album was acclaimed broadly upon release, a welcome return to the limelight for a performer who had spent 18 years away from it. The album was produced by Four Tet and created with collaborative assistance from synth duo Rocketnumbernine.
