"One thing’s for sure, it’ll be jam packed!”

Jonathan Hermawan (AKA Jonzy) is passing the JAM PAKT hosting baton to Naomi Wenitong, in an effort to spend more time with his young family.

Jonzy and the team at Media Heads are stoked to have Wenitong on board and have stated that “JAM PAKT is a perfect match for Naomi’s talent and vibrant personality,”.

As one of the biggest radio shows in the country that offer a platform for First Nations peoples, Wenitong has some big shoes to fill. However, there is no doubt that she will take it by storm.

“Naomi’s music pedigree is first-class, and we’re really excited to see where she can take the program from here. I also want to thank Jonzy for everything he’s done over the last 4 years. His contribution to making the program what it is today can’t be understated. He’s a natural-born communicator and he and his family will always be part of our family," Media Heads General Manager and EP of JAM PAKT Dave Carter said.

Wenitong comes on board after a very impressive career that is only just getting started. A singer, songwriter, producer and youth mentor, Wenitong has a passion for promoting a 'be all that you can' attitude to young folk. She has had a very successful music career herself, with her first band Shakaya touring with acts like Destiny's Child, Usher and Ja Rule, just to name a few.

On the opportunity, Wenitong stated: “It’s a huge honour to be given the reins of one of the biggest mob radio shows in the country. It’s also a huge opportunity to share some stories about my life and the work I’m doing with others. I’ll still be droppin’ deadly beats and showcasing new talent, as well as sharing yarns with some awesome guests. One thing’s for sure, it’ll be jam packed!”

JAM PAKT is one of the largest radio shows of its type in the country, broadcast on 284 radio stations, including Koori Radio (Sydney), 3KND (Melbourne), Radio Adelaide (Adelaide), Noongar Radio (Perth), and regional networks including CAAMA, NIRS, PAKAM, Radio Larrakia, Radio Goolari, NG Media, TEABBA, Yolŋu Radio and Radio MAMA.

You can catch Wenitong's first show on Thursday, August 18.
