MUST LISTEN: Zion Garcia's 'PRIM PROPER FREESTYLE' Is An Absolute Bar Fest

"This one is for the future me. I’m getting out of my own way, and I’m starting the process to get my music out, since at the end of the day, is it really that deep? Who knows me better than me?"

One of the brightest talents coming from so called Australia, Zion Garcia is kicking off his 2023 in distinct style releasing PRIM PROPER FREESTYLE.

Garcia is undoubtedly one of the strongest emerging MCs from Western Sydney having wowed fans and built a cult following. He first truely began to enter the radar of money following his 2021 single We Need Love, but has been dropping bars since his album in 2018, Plastic Woman. Last year he featured on SOLLYY's Apply The Pressure, which we named Purple Sneakers BEST song of 2022.

Since then he has been a beacon of inspiration and symbol of creativity for all kids from the area.

His sound has become defined by introspective bars as he explores the ideas of community, love, mental health, family and more over glitchy, jazz infused instrumentals.

Today he is has released Prim Proper Freestyle, which marks the beginning of his inevitable takeover.

Hotter out west the best / heart stoppers, it opens, setting the tone immediately for the braggadocios energy of the track.

The track was created following a period of creative block which was broken by The Pomodoro Technique which says to set a 25 minute timer in which you work vigorously to take a 5 minute break at the end and repeat.

"I was desperate to get out of this creative rut I was in for so long. Following such a formative year in terms of growing my live performance, I lost touch with just how to not overthink my actual music-making process…," Garcia explains.
