Melb Music Fans To Set Record & Show Off Their Superior Taste On #AusMusicTShirtDay

10 November 2016 | 3:57 pm | Staff Writer

Dress to impress.

November is Ausmusic Month, and this year the 18th will take the role of #AusMusicTShirtDay.

If you're unfamiliar with the event, or possess exceedingly poor deductive skills, #AusMusicTShirtDay is an annual occasion to bust out your favourite musical threads to show your support for your favourite local artists and really stick it to Brian, who doubted you really knew anything about Australian music at the one record swap you brought yourself to attend several years ago.

This year, there will be a public opportunity in Melbourne to even obtain photographic evidence to shove back in his face the next time your paths cross, and you might even walk away with a sense of achievement as the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) angles for an (unofficial) record-setting attempt at cramming in the most Australian music T-shirts — being worn at the time — to a single photograph.

In order to find the space and visibility for the effort, AMIN has announced it will be making the attempt from 9.25am on Friday 18 November on the steps of the Victorian State Library, in Melbourne.

Given the attempt will occur during the Face The Music summit, part of Melbourne Music Week, there's no good reason this shouldn't be one packed-out pic.

There will be a free performance from celebrated songstress Nai Palm (of Hiatus Kaiyote) from 9.30am.

To keep abreast of all the updates ahead of the attempt, keep tabs on the Facebook event page.
