The annual event returns in November

The beloved Mullum Music Festival is back again this November, and organisers are keen to bolster 2015's runaway success with another knockout effort — but they can't do it without a little help from the Aussie artist and performance community.

To that end, applications for the ninth Mullum Music Fest are now open (until 5pm on Friday 29 April); prospective performers should note that they will need to arrange their own transport to and from the event, as well as accommodation during the festival.

Although this year's wider line-up is yet to be revealed, last year attracted a litany of excellent acts to Mullum's stages, including Mt Warning, Ben Ottewell, Ron Sexsmith, Robert Forster, We Two Thieves, Montaigne, Harry James Angus and many more, so it's safe to say that we're in for a treat of at least that calibre when the festival rolls through town again later this year.

If you're confident as it is (and you have every reason to be), you'll be stoked to know that the festival has opened up sales for Subscriber Early Bird tickets, representing a saving of about 35% (day tickets) over those who have to wait for general purchasing to open up. The tickets will remain available to subscribers until the allocation has sold out. If you're not yet a subscriber, you can rectify that at the festival's website.

In the interim, suss those early-bird tickets, check out additional info at the event's website, and kill some time while you wait for the next… 246 days… with a handy playlist celebrating the fantastic acts that filled out last year's line-up below.

The 2016 Mullum Music Festival runs from 17-20 November.
