"I’m chuffed and rehearsing at home already!"
Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall is set to transform into 1890's downtown Paris at the end of this year - to celebrate one of the most iconic films of the early 2000's.
Some of the biggest music names from the local scene will come together for Spectacular Spectacular - in honour of the 20th anniversary of the Baz Luhmann epic Moulin Rouge. With a huge live band, backing dancers and more, songs from the original film will be brought to life thanks to some very special guests.
Darren Middleton of Powderfinger, Sarah McLeod of The Superjesus, Patience Hodgson of The Grates and many more will don their finest top hats and corsets, for an all-singing, all-dancing cavalcade of live entertainment.
"For Moulin Rouge to come knocking at my door…I’m chuffed and rehearsing at home already!" Middleton said of the project. "I may call in a few tips from Hugh and Guy Pearce for this role!”
Fellow Powderfinger member and co-owner of Fortitude Music Hall John Collins added, “projects like this are a way for our team to flex their creative muscle and collaborate with the fantastic array of domestic talent we have at our fingertips. Getting to showcase the Fortitude Music Hall in new and different ways is a priority for us, especially in light of this catastrophic COVID period.”
Other performers set to take part include Sahara Beck, Tia Gostelow, Hope-D, Boss Moxi and many more.
