This Aussie Track Was The Most Shazamed Song Globally In 2021

Aussie talent has dominated Apple Music this year, as evident via the streaming giant’s end of year charts.

Today’s figures confirm that Masked Wolf made a lot of new fans over the past 12 months, with the Australian rapper’s 2019 hit Astronaut In The Ocean being the most Shazamed song globally in 2021.

The local act beat some tough competition, placing ahead of The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears (#2), Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits (#3), Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License (#4), Måneskin’s Beggin (#5).

Apple Music has revealed that a whopping 11.7 million people used Shazam on the track and it was miles ahead of Save Your Tears, which received 8.5 million Shazams.

Unsurprisingly, The Kid LAROI tops off an already massive year by claiming the #1 most Shazamed song in Australia in 2021 with Without You, while his mixtape, F*ck Love (Savage), was the most streamed album in Australia this year.
