‘Morning Of The Earth’ & Its Acclaimed Soundtrack Hitting The Big Screen

Described as “the film that inspired a generation”, seminal surf offering Morning Of The Earth will screen in cinemas across the country to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Albert Falzon’s 1972 classic has been meticulously remastered in 4K and will screen at Astor Theatre, Melbourne (Feb 25), Orpheum, Sydney (Mar 9), Randwick Ritz, Sydney (Mar 10) and Noosa Festival of Surfing (Mar 11) alongside short film 50 Years Around The Sun, which features never-been-seen outtakes.

The Melbourne and Sydney screenings will also include a Zoom Q&A with Falzon himself.

As Warner notes, the film’s “music was the narrator, with each track played in its entirety”.

Fans will be treated to a remastered version of the soundtrack, which produced Australian #1 single Open Up Your Heart from G.Wayne Thomas and was the first Australian soundtrack to achieve gold sales.
