The 'One Eye For An Eye' scribe has shored up his album's NZ release, too
Newcastle-bred country rocker Morgan Evans has revealed that he has signed with the world’s largest talent agency, William Morris Endeavor, in an international deal that will see the organisation look after Evans’ pursuits and products in the United States and around the world.
Evans’ global clout has been on the steady rise since he was hand-picked by CMA Music Festival organisers in 2007 to perform in front of 60,000 punters at Nashville’s LP Field stadium. With his trajectory to date reaching its pinnacle with an appearance at the city’s weekly country-music concert series, the Grand Ole Opry, in May, followed by an eagerly received return to the CMA fest, Morgan’s signing puts him firmly on the right foot to make further inroads to the US country music scene.
Morgan’s Australian representation will remain the jurisdiction of Rob Potts Entertainment Edge’s Tony Brooks, while WME agent Doug Neff will handle the remainder of Evans’ non-local, non-US-based releases.
"I want to take my music as far and wide as possible and having Doug and WME joining my team feels like a great step in the right direction,” Evans enthused of the signing, in a statement. “They look after so many of my favourite artists, so I feel I’m in good hands!"

And off to a good start, too, as far as spreading Evans’ music as far and wide as possible is concerned – the One Eye For An Eye scribe has also revealed that he has cemented a New Zealand release for his acclaimed debut LP.
Exact details of when Kiwi fans will be able to pick up their copy are yet to be announced, but as Morgan’s first international release – to be accompanied in August by a promotional tour, including a special guest showing at the 2014 NZ Country Music Awards in Hamilton – it’s sure to cause quite the stir among country music enthusiasts when it does drop at last.
In the interim, you can familiarise yourself with the esteemed Mr Evans via recent single Like A Tornado – which is currently spending its fifth consecutive week atop the National Country Music Channel Top 30 – below.
