Montell Fish Plots 2025 Australian Tour

Montell Fish will return to Australia after sold-out dates corresponding with Vivid Sydney last year.

A year after making his Australian debut as part of Vivid Sydney and playing sideshows, American experimental musician Montell Fish will return Down Under this May.

Following his sold-out first-ever Australia and New Zealand tour dates last year, Montell Fish will bring his The Dream Deer Tour to Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday, 9 May, before playing two shows at Melbourne’s Forum on Saturday, 10, and Sunday, 11 May, and a final show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Tuesday. 13 May.

Frontier Members and those signed up to Montell Fish’s website can access pre-sale tickets from Wednesday, 12 March, at 10 am local time before the general sale begins at 10 am local time on Friday, 14 March, via the Frontier Touring website.

The tour announcement arrives after the release of the track deserve/energy, a new single from Fish’s masked musical moniker, dj gummy bear, which he introduced in 2023. A shadowy figure that allows Fish to go new places with his artistry, he explores abstract electronic work while maintaining the creative outlet that is Montell Fish.

With the two distinct characters of Montell Fish and dj gummy bear, the American artist explores the duality of his musical world and the opposing forces that have influenced his career. While his primary creative outlet is all about intricate and grand alternative pop, his dj gummy bear moniker tinkers with ambient, experimental R&B music.

Montell Fish released his latest EP as dj gummy bear, Intercession Before Charlotte, last year. His most recent release under the Montell Fish name, Charlotte, was also released in 2024. Gearing up for a busy 2025, Fish will perform in Australia, Europe, and some big festivals in the coming months.
