MontaigneRising pop powerhouse Montaigne released her latest single Because I Love You today, following a few months of conquering the public conciousness with her soulful vocals.
Premiered on triple j last night, Because I Love You sees the young star deliver an analysis to relationships once perceived as full of life, wrapped in a musically vibrant, upbeat dynamic.
Montaigne, aka Jess Cerro, explains her motives for the song, saying it's "a look back at what you’d known to be a healthy and fulfilling relationship whilst experiencing it, but with a little perspective discovered was pretty bad. I wrote this song and only AFTER writing it did I realise that that’s how I felt the whole time. It’s a classic “love is blind” narrative. I love this song, it’s probably the most fun thing I’ve ever written."
