Who would be happy about coughing up $1.7 mil though?
It's no secret that drink company Monster Energy would be peeved that they had to fork out $US1.7 million to recently retired hip hop icons Beastie Boys in the copyright lawsuit over the organisation using some of the group's songs in a 2012 promo video.
Well they aren't happy and they've let everyone know it in a statement released on the verdict.
In the statement (via Pitchfork) the corporation said they “strongly disagree” with the decision and intend on appealing it.
“Although Monster Energy has great respect for the verdict of the jury, we strongly disagree with it. We will make an application to the Court to set aside the verdict and we intend to file an appeal. From the inception, Monster Energy has been willing to resolve this matter in a fair and equitable manner and we will continue to make additional efforts to reach a just resolution of this dispute."
