Progressive rock band Mogwai have revealed they plan to release a new album in February 2011.
The band has reportedly entered the studio to begin work on what will be their seventh studio album.
Guitarist Stuart Braithwaite recently spoke to Spinner about the direction of the new album.
"I think it's going to be an interesting record," Braithwaite said. "Quite often, when we go into the studio our songs are nearly written. There's almost a tone of a song, but as the whole band, you haven't realized where it's going."
The as-yet-untitled new album will be the follow up to their 2008 album, ‘The Hawk Is Howling’.
In other news, Mogwai plan to release their first-ever live album, 'Special Moves’, later this month.
