Posters have been spotted in Los Angeles, New York, and Copenhagen.
After posters with a woman in lingerie with the caption "NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY" started appearing in locations such as Los Angeles, New York, and Copenhagen, the Midnight Sky singer has confirmed her return with a teaser video and a countdown on her website that stops on New Year's Day.
Miley Cyrus's Spotify and social media profiles have also been updated to include the teaser phrase.
Speculation has run rife that the pop singer has returned to the studio with Mike Will Made It, who produced her 2013 album BANGERZ. The two are in a photo with hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd with the caption "EAR DRUMMERS & HEAD BANGERZ" below.
"Miley has held her own as a prominent woman in the music industry for over 15 years now. To have her in the countdown might not have been what we would ever expect, but one listen to this cover [of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters], and you understand why. Her voice is phenomenal, and her presence in the hardest 100 is amazing," Lili Jean Berry wrote about Cyrus in our article, Meet The Female Artists Dominating Heavy Music Right Now.
Sadly, the singer had to cancel her one-off Australian show for bushfire relief in response to COVID-19.
"Australia: Due to the recommendations of local, state, federal and international government authorities, including the Center for Disease Control, to reduce potential health risks in response to the current global health crisis, we are no longer traveling to Aus for the show," her post read at the time.

"I am so disappointed to not be there, but I have to do what is right to protect the health and safety of my band and crew. I will still be making a donation to help the victims of the Australian bush fire.
"I’m sorry to miss everyone in Australia, but I will be back soon."
Cyrus's new music will follow her November 2020 album, Plastic Hearts, and her first live album, Attention: Miley Live, released earlier this year. View some NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY teasers below.
