The annual event is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017
The 10th annual Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival will be held throughout this June, and its organisers today have revealed a wide-ranging program featuring a diversity of local and national cabaret acts.
The line-up includes crooner Mikelangelo paying tribute to Leonard Cohen, with special guests Jennifer Kingwell — also the festival's creative director — and local songwriters Koral and Anthony Callisto (Cosmo Thundercat) as well as celebrated satirist and songstress Anya Anastasia.
Also on the cards will be Indigenous cabaret trailblazer Martin Pascoe, bringing his acclaimed show — which features a range of local Aboriginal talent — to Adelaide after successful stints at the Spirit Festival and NAIDOC Ball, Adelaide (via Berlin)'s own "international superstar and sex symbol" Hans, multifaceted performer Mama Alto (with virtuosic pianist Miss Chief), fan-favourite performer Dolly Diamond, and rage-fuelled songstress Nicole O'Rielley (think of her like "a pissed-off Regina Spektor").
The Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival has blossomed over the past decade under the guidance of festival director Paul Boylon, who described his history with the event as "a wonderful experience", and expressed his enthusiasm for this year's 10-year special: "Full of local and interstate talent, the program is exciting, colorful and offers something for everyone," he said.
