MIFF People's Choice Award goes to Boyhood
The winners of the MIFF People’s Choice Awards have been announced – and yes, Richard Linklater’s Boyhood took out the number one spot for Best Feature Film.
In second place was the hilarious rom-com about abortion, Obvious Child, starring comedian Jenny Slate. Third place went to haunted-house crowd-pleaser Housebound. Jalanan, which follows three buskers on the streets of Jakarta over a period of five years, took out #1 for Best Documentary.
The 63rd Melbourne International Film Festival came to a close on 17 Aug, after 17 days screening 342 films over 522 sessions from 57 countries in 54 different languages. It’s the biggest MIFF we’ve seen yet.
