And there might be a local act challening for the singles.

New releases from Gaslight Anthem, Passion Pit and Skipknot are keeping the scorers busy this week in the ARIA Albums Chart as they push for high spots on the rankings.

According to mid-week figures, they are the strongest new releases in the chart this week but will have to deal with existing releases which are still selling strongly. Karise Eden's My Journey populates the top spot after four weeks and she's going to take some dislodging. It might even come down to Justin Bieber who's enjoying strong sales again after being pushed around by One Direction and reality TV stars recently. Local exposure has no doubt given him a boost.

In the singles chart fun, Pink and Rudimental are still fighting over the top spot  and it's too close to call at the moment. There will be a bit of a local taste to this week's battle though, as Justice Crew's latest single Boom Boom is starting to make its presence felt around the top three, based on midweek scans.
