The soundtrack to your weekend has been sorted.

More Middle Kids More Middle Kids

Middle Kids have been on the move non-stop since the release of their acclaimed debut LP last year, but they’ve still managed to carve out time for charming new mini-album New Songs For Old Problems, which is officially out today.

The latest release from the Sydney trio, who are currently touring the US, features singles Real Thing and Beliefs And Prayers, alongside four other new songs recorded at the band’s studio and produced by bassist Tim Fitz.

After touring the world in support of 2018 debut album Lost Friends – supporting Bloc Party across the UK and Europe – and appearing on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show With James Corden and more in recent years, New Songs For Old Problems more than lives up to the hype.

“Indie trio Middle Kids deliver six tracks that highlight their skill of crafting stimulating lyrics and catchy instrumentals,” The Music reviewer Keira Leonard said.

New Songs For Old Problems is held together by retrospective tales and catchy melodies, ultimately creating a sound that could be described as a melancholic rainbow. It’s reflective misery, projected through a feelgood, electro-pop sound.”
