Michael Jackson, VHS & Drumming In The Sea: Yep, Just Another Clip From Mac DeMarco

The man of the moment has unveiled the title track from his forthcoming mini-LP 'Another One'

Buzzworthy Canadian troubadour Mac DeMarco is apparently not one to rest on his laurels.

Despite enjoying a stellar past 12 months punctuated with high-profile headline and festival performances — plus putting away a full-length album, Salad Days — the Passing Out Pieces hitmaker has somehow found the time to craft a seven-track mini-LP, which he has titled Another One, and gotten it ready in time for release via Spunk Records this August.

Oh, and he's also filmed a retro, VHS-grainy DIY film clip in which he dons a horrifying Michael Jackson mask and plays his instruments in the sea — we're not even going to pretend like we can offer you a reason for anything we just wrote but you can check it out for yourself with the video for the mini-LP's title track, which follows first single The Way You Love Her.

DeMarco himself describes Another One as "a love song", but it's a bittersweet one, its lyrical themes "contemplating his lover's potential love for someone else, all the while paying tribute to one of his musical heroes", according to an accompanying release.

"Sometimes kidding around can change a heart; be careful," DeMarco warns in a statement. "A heart always wants what a heart can't have. Find what you love and hold it close! Knock knock."
