Inertia, Sony, ARIA, Laneway and Live Nation in next five names
Australian Live Nation boss Michael Coppel has shot into the top 15 of the AMID Power 50 in 2013 as the second round of names are revealed today.
Set to be released next week, theMusic.com.au can reveal the 15 to 11 positions in this year's Australasian Music Industry Directory Power 50 Edition.
Coppel, who took on the reigns of Live Nation after his Michael Coppel Presents merged with the global music giant, has now laid the groundwork for Live Nation to become one of the most powerful companies in the Australian market, and as such jumps 11 positions this year. While that platform has been laid, however, Live Nation is still not a household name outside of industry circles in Australia like it is in other parts of the world – but it's definitely moving towards that.
Other names released today include Inertia's CEO Ashley Sellers, who makes the list for the first time alongside the independent label's Managing Director Colin Daniels. There's also Danny Rogers from Lunatic Entertainment and Laneway Festival, the man pushing ARIA and PPCA into the future of the industry, Dan Rosen, and Denis Handlin, who has one of the longest titles in the industry: Chairman & CEO, Australia & New Zealand and President Asia, Sony Music Entertainment.
The top ten names in the AMID Power 50 will be released in the coming days, with the full 50 released in the Australasian Music Industry Directory next week.
