MIA Will Release An Audio-Visual Project Via Apple Music

It's going to have two songs and a short film

British rapper/firecracker MIA will be releasing Matahdatha Scroll 01 Broader Than A Border, an audio-visual project, through Apple Music on Monday, 13 July, as part of the tech behemoth's commitment to create original content through their new streaming service.

Apple Music revealed the news via Twitter, where they posted a short teaser of the project — something MIA has been regularly doing through Instagram and Twitter. The project will be a two-song release with an accompanying short film featuring tracks from her upcoming album, which MIA has been implying may be called Matadatha

The streaming service which has recently launched — after much controversy about the company not paying artists during the three-month free trial for users — have also worked with Drake for his newest video Energy, in which he impersonates Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus a la Wrecking Ball and Kanye West, Pharrell's Freedom and Eminem's Phenomenal.

According to Pitchfork, Apple Music is also rumoured to be working with Purity Ring, Diddy and James Bay.
