Metallica to perform, throw first pitch at SF Giants game

AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants will host a Metallica Day during the upcoming 2013 season.

Metallica reported the news via their website recently, with the group set to perform the national anthem and throw the first pitch on May 3.

Bay Area natives, Metallica night takes place when the world series champions take on fierce NL West rivals, Los Angeles Dodgers.

“We're psyched to be teaming up with the World Series champs for the first ever Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Friday, May 3! When the Giants take on their arch-rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers, we'll be on hand that night to kick off the game with the National Anthem and first pitch,” Metallica writes.

Metallica tour Australia this month as part of Soundwave 2013.
