Metallica were nominated for the track "My Apocalypse", from the band's 2008 album "Death Magnetic". Congratulations, Metallica! Metallica were nominated for the very first "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 1989, but famously lost to JETHRO TULL.

The band have taken home seven Grammys since (not counting last night's award), including five for "Best Metal Performance."
