Metallica announce fifth and final Melbourne show

After multiple instant sell outs and more than 60,000 ticket sales for their first four Melbourne shows, Metallica have agreed to play a 5th and very definitely FINAL show in Melbourne, adding Rod Laver Arena on Thursday September 16 to the 17 sold out shows of their Australia/NZ tour.

The band will take the stage - playing in the round - for more than two hours featuring tracks from throughout their extensive career.

Tickets for this final Melbourne show will go on sale at 9am Wednesday July 7, through Ticketek.

Metallica will begin and end their Australian ‘World Magnetic Tour’ in Melbourne, on September 15 and November 21 respectively.

After their September dates the band will continue on to Japan for major stadium dates, before returning in October and November for their 15 remaining arena shows around the country.

The Australian and New Zealand dates mark the culmination of their world tour and will be Metallica’s first Australian shows since January 2004.

Although it has not been officially announced, it is stated on Metallica's official website that Lamb Of God and Baroness are opening for the band at all shows from October 16th to November 21st.
