HEAVENSGATEMelbourne hardcore outfit Heavensgate have announced that their debut EP, And All I Loved, I Loved Alone, will be released on 24 February via Greyscale Records/1126 Records.
Featuring six tracks, the band promises pummelling riffs over songs of self-reflection. "AND ALL I LOVED, I LOVED ALONE explores a diverse range of concepts but also retains the familiar elements that listeners connected within our previous singles," the band revealed in a statement. "It's a culmination of a lifetime's worth of experiences."
On co-writing and production duties is Joshua Ang from Pincer+, while metal mastermind Erik Bickerstaffe (Loathe) is behind the drum production, and Buster Odeholm of Odeholm Audio (Humanity's Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Sworn In) handles the mix and mastering.
The Melbourne hardcore scene is in good hands with Heavensgate releasing songs as impossibly heavy (and catchy) as their debut single, CHEMICAL HEAVEN, and the recently released SHEMOVESLIKETHUNDER.

While SHEMOVESLIKETHUNDER is an incredibly personal song, the music is chaotic, noisy, and restless. Guitars are drop-tuned, they screech, and the drums are in your face as much as the vocals.
The track is inspired by vocalist Nazareth Tharratt's experience of "suffering through drug addiction and self-destructive habits as a coping mechanism, whilst also having a lover in a fragile state who desperately looks to you for support, comfort and stability whilst they struggle through their own mental health issues. The lyrics are a personal acknowledgment of faults and regrets, poured into an open letter."
The Melbournites have been played on triple j's The Racket and have received tens of thousands of streams.
