Melbourne’s The First Festival Drops Huge Line-up Announcement

M.I.A. leads the latest announcement.

More M.I.A. M.I.A. Profile

Teasing festivalgoers in recent weeks with the announcement of headliners Action Bronson and The Presents, Melbourne’s newest NYD festival, The First, has today rolled out one hell of a line-up.

Described as a “fresh approach to New Year’s Day”, the open air, multi-stage festival at Sidney Myer Music Bowl will deliver some of the best electronic, hip hop, house and techno on offer.

Joining the previously announced headline acts will be acclaimed British rapper and activist M.I.A., alongside Australian-born talent Banoffee, French-born, Berlin-based vinyl DJ and producer Bloody Mary, a live set from KiNK as well as Bob Moses, Krystal Klear, Max Cooper, Nastia and SG Lewis, with more to be announced.

The festival comes from the same team who brought Piknic Electronik to Australia and will also offer art, food trucks and more.

Ticket pre-sale goes live next Wednesday, September 12, before general tickets are available the following day.
