Melbourne's annual Reclink Community Cup event successfully raised over $100,000 at Elsternwick Park yesterday.
The funds made from the friendly Aussie Rules match spectacle will go towards Reclink Australia who work to deliver sports and arts programs to disadvantaged individuals around the country.
In a testament to the impressive amount of money that was raised, over 10,000 people attended the event to witness the Triple R/PBS FM Megahertz, 9.10.64, dominate the Rockdogs, 5.7.37.
The packed out crowd were also on hand to witness live performances from Aussie acts including Adalita, Pearls and Graveyard Train, while The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra treated the fans with a huge half time performance.
Aussie music royalty Paul Kelly, who has a long association with the event and was once the coach of the Rockdogs, hit the stage for a special performance with his nephew, Dan Kelly, to play a cover of fellow national act Dave Graney & The Coral Snakes' song, Feelin' Kinda Sporty, which was the day's theme.
Sydney, Adelaide and Perth will also be holding the annual event this year, which will all take place this August — for more info, head to the event website.
