Abandoned warehouse party, anyone?

In the blink of an eye, Melbourne's CBD is set to open a fresh new live music venue, with its grand opening to take place tonight.

In what will be known as W4, the venue launched by hospitality and entertainment collective The Luminosty Group is located in an abandoned warehouse below the site of Roxannes and adjacent to karaoke and pool bar, Charltons.

The space holds over 350 punters and on the floor above, the main bandroom known as the 'W4 Parlour' can hold 200 more, perfect for an intimate live performance.

W4 was unofficially opened last week by electro duo Flight Facilities who performed their first DJ set in eight years in the new venue, though it will be opened for the public from tonight.

With Marco Schirru to take on booking talent and having already secured Flight Facilities, Touch Sensitive and more, W4 is primed to become one of Melbourne's most popular live music venues.

The opening tonight will feature performances from Sydney-based singer Ngaiire and Melbourne's own Champagne Internet.
