Melb Soul-pop Songstress Maja Announces September Tour

The seasoned singer-songwriter will release her second EP in August

More Maja More Maja

Melbourne (via Brisbane) soul-pop-folk singer-songwriter Maja is readying herself for the release of her second EP, Still Bleeding, next month with the announcement of a six-date tour throughout September.

Kicking off at Melbourne's Wesley Anne on Friday 1 September, Maja will play headline shows in Ballarat, Brisbane, Adelaide and Bendigo over the course of the month, with a spot on the line-up for the Nimbin Roots Festival as a bit of a mid-month interval.

Her new EP — which comes just over a year after her excellent self-titled debut — will be released on Friday 4 August, giving fans ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with the fresh material therein, which deals in darker themes than we've previously heard from the seasoned muso.

Written in the wake of an unhealthy relationship Maja re-entered following a trip across Europe in 2015, Still Bleeding — both the EP and the title track — touches on introspective and personal themes in its lyrics, complemented ably by her considered, expertly crafted soundscapes.

The EP was recorded by prolific producer Konstantin Kersting at Airlock Studios in her old hometown, with mastering by Daniel Fournier of CParis and artwork by Cherie Allan.

It includes recent single Wake Up & Find, an upbeat and feelgood soul-filled gem that has already found its way to the triple j airwaves and a top-10 landing in the AMRAP regional charts.

Tickets for all of Maja's upcoming shows are available now via Oztix.
