If recent assertions by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine are anything to go by, fans can expect a "very, very fast heavy" record.
Speaking to Guitar World's Jon Wiederhorn, Mustaine noted the direction of the new material.
"It's gonna be heavy and not slow heavy like BLACK SABBATH or TROUBLE. It's very, very fast heavy," Mustaine said.
Furthermore, the musician talked about the song writing timeline.
"Some of the songs are old, some are new. Some were written this morning. Some back in the early stages of my career — songs that weren't previously recorded. It's just a variety of stuff."
However, as news reports state, the progress of the recording is currently on hold due to an illness suffered by producer Johnny K.
