"I love busting caps in people and, also, Pokemon"

As the 21st century progresses, it seems like there is an increasing amount of pressure put on kids to make something worthwhile of themselves before they turn 18 and officially become "past it" as far as social relevance is concerned.

And, with the advent of the user-driven internet revolution of the past few years, it's become almost impossible to be able to even turn around without being smacked in the face by a YouTube video of the unfairly excellent work of some precocious prepubescent that makes you want to burn all your paintbrushes, or eBay your instruments, or otherwise dismantle whatever creative pursuit you've spent your life stumbling away at.

Twelve-year-old British rapper Gee Star is one such prodigy, who - along with fellow under-agers Bdot Star and Hersi - is the pride and joy of fledgling indie label Banga Entertainment, which has released five of his videos to date.

His most recent effort, a surprisingly polished single called Five Senses, has only just hit the web, and it seems an excellent opportunity to introduce yourself to the genuinely impressive linguistic command (and occasional hilarious vocal cracking) of this pint-sized poet and gangster-in-training.

To be totally clear, this is not in any way meant as a takedown of the li'l OG -- after all, he clearly has a vocabulary that dwarfs that of most children his age, and a grip of rhyme and delivery that even some pop bands haven't mastered yet. Indeed, with age and persistence, you might just one day find the name "Gee Star" sincerely and deservedly adorning a festival poster somewhere.
