Last night was the final night of Top 24 week, whittling down the number of contestants competing for the title of Australian Idol to 12.

Four contestants made it and closed the Top 12 last night.

Melbourne rose farmer Josh Hannan stepped onstage outside the comfort zone of his trusted guitar or piano to captivate the audience with his raw performance of Joji’s Glimpse of Us. Meanwhile, dance teacher Jasey Fox went down a more theatrical pop route, showing off his pipes and energetic dance moves as he took on Grace Kelly by the inimitable MIKA.

Noora H overcame her nerves to bring the house down with a performance of a classic Australian pop tune, Olivia Newton-John’s Hopelessly Devoted To You. But 15-year-old Angelina Curtis' version of The Only Exception by Paramore captivated judge Harry Connick Jr, who gave her the final Touchdown of the week.

Elsewhere, the performers who just missed out: Peter Kara delivered his rendition of Diamonds by Sam Smith, while Sara Houston brought the house down as she performed Nelly Furtado’s I’m Like a Bird. The final contestants to perform were Sharin Attamimi, who took on Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive, and Bobby Homes, who emulated Bruno Mars as he served Locked out of Heaven.

Last night's singers make up the Top 12 alongside Amali Dimond, Anya Hynninen, Ben Sheehy, Harry Hayden, Maya Weiss, Phoebe Stewart, Royston Sagigi-Baira, and Sash Seabourne.
