America’s favourite punk rock cover band Me First & The Gimme Gimmes are returning Down Under this year.
Announcing their Band of the Long Weekend Tour today (July 16), they’ll be hitting nine venues around Australia.
Me First & The Gimme Gimmes will be playing songs from their new album, ¡Blow It…At Madison’s Quinceañera!, which features covers of ABBA’s Dancing Queen, Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U, Selena’s I Could Fall In Love, and much more.
Speaking on the album, frontman Spike Slawson said: “I would like this to be considered indicative of what a live show by the Gimme Gimmes can be. The only difference is that there would be people that wanted to come and see us. What happened at this show, to me, is better than unfettered, unconditional applause from a lot of people. Golf-claps from about five people is how I want to hear a live record.”

The tour will start with a show at Brisbane’s Tivoli on October 30, before performances at the Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta on November 1, Newcastle’s Bar On The Hill on November 2, and Canberra’s The Baso on November 3. Sydney’s Enmore Theatre will be up next on November 6, then Victoria’s Torquay Hotel on November 8, Melbourne’s Forum on November 9, and Adelaide’s The Gov on November 10. Finally, the tour will close out at Perth’s Astor Theatre on November 13.
